VINYL TECHNOLOGY
Vinyl, in 2006, is the #1 sash/frame material in
the North American window market with a market share of 48%.
There is, however, a wide quality spectrum in the vinyl
industry. Alpen resides at the absolute pinnacle of this
international scale in terms of: a) "uPVC" vinyl longevity due to UV
stability, b) structural integrity by virtue of wall thickness and
metal reinforcement, c) precision engineered hardware, and d)
sash/frame geometry optimized for Alpenglass R-5 to R-15.
Overall Alpen Window "NFRC" U-Values, as the weighted average of sash,
frame, glass and edge-of-glass performance, are untouchable by any
competitor.
Alpen Vinyl Windows are produced in-house, with
welded corners and in rapid computer-driven response to the custom
dimensions of each new or replacement window opening. White
and beige color options complement any design. Aluminum-clad
wood and fiberglass windows have painted exteriors. Paint
fades, especially at higher elevations due to the approximate 3%
increase in solar intensity per 1,000 foot gain in altitude.
Vinyl coloration is consistent throughout the material, defining a true
"zero maintenance" window.
Alpen's vinyl line includes casement, double-hung,
double-slider, picture, awning, bow, bay, sliding glass and French door
designs.
